A big week for games and entertainment at my microphone!
More work this week for Project: Gorgon, a sandbox MMORPG. Using my British delivery, with a bunch of tongue-in-cheek lines, I’ve done multiple promos of various kinds for them over the past week. Fun stuff!
A tourism promo for Hershey (yep, the chocolate place!) and Harrisburg, PA. Plenty to see and do there!
A commercial for Canterbury Park in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Casino, Racing and big events there!
And another trailer for a role playing game: Outgunned Superheroes RPG.
And we close out with The Review of the Week, this time from a client in Italy: “Working with Chuck Brown was a FANTASTIC experience. His professionalism and attention to detail in voice-over work were truly IMPRESSIVE, seamlessly captured in every project. Plus, his quick responsiveness and deep understanding make collaborations a breeze! 👍”
I’ve had a long-running relationship where I was providing narrative voiceovers (some with a British accent and some an American accent) for what seemed to be a pretty interesting concept: two teams of guys competing in different tasks. Some really straightforward and some in more interesting contexts. The teams were called the AMP Team and Beta Squad. I hadn’t heard of them outside of that working relationship, but in conversation with one of the younger members of my family (he’s 19), he said, “Yeah, I know those guys. They are really popular on YouTube!!” So, I was today years old when I found that one out…! 😀 Anyway…I did some more work for them recently, and again today. But if you’re interested in a sample that’s online now, here ’tis…and yes, that does say 22 MILLION views!
I did some work today as well for GE Aerospace. Technology is progressing at a freakily high rate of speed now. I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like when more of technological development has been put in the hands of AI (yes, that’s Artificial Intelligence, not some dude named “Al” (as in Bundy!) 🤪
Another project this week was for the role of a “gnarly old sailor” for a short horror film. I don’t know much more about it than that, but it was a lot of fun buying into that character. While not particularly grisly description-wise, it was quite a depressing account from the only survivor in an encounter (if one could be so optimistic to call it that!) with a sea monster. It felt very much like something out of Moby Dick.
Next up, a promo for a new Ultima Online freeshard. Delivered with my Elderly British Wizard delivery. A lot of fun to do, and the client loved the work!
As is the norm, here is my Review Of The Week! “Chuck Brown’s voice-over talents are nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL! His PROFESSIONALISM, sound quality, and quick responsiveness made working with him a breeze, and the multiple versions he provided allowed us to find the perfect fit. Thank you for going ABOVE AND BEYOND and exceeding our expectations with your flawless delivery!”
Over the past few days, I’ve done multiple scripts for one of my biggest clients: NordVPN. Nord is one of the world’s largest VPN providers, and they do a lot of advertising on various media, including cable networks and social media. A lot of friends recognize my voice on these spots and let me know they were watching a movie or a big game and heard it, which is really fun!
I also did an energetic speaker introduction for a prominent motivational expert with a focus on workplace culture. This one will become a video, but many of the ones I do along these lines are just video intros. I’ve done many of these over the years, for speakers and singers (including Ricky Skaggs and Rascal Flatts, both prerecorded and live on site), magicians and various speakers intros at sales conferences, award presentations and corporate events.
nother interest project this week was a cool, understated deep voice delivery for a fireworks and light show synchronized to music and narration. Usually when I do these, they want a booming delivery…but this one was very tasty and I had fun with it.
Also, a promo for a new product allowing critical metals processors to affordably get more usable end product from their work, with use of a breakthrough “lixiviant” transforming how critical metals are recovered.
Finally, the Review of The Week from a customer here in the U.S.:
“Mr. Brown, Delivered. I don’t mean just that he delivered in the sense of, “on time”. Mr. Brown, delivered NOT only on time but he delivered THREE samples for me to choose from, IN less than 24 hrs. Mr. Brown is an upmost professional and not what you usually get in today’s world. When you place an order anywhere else, it’s usually less than expected. Mr. Brown, i can say is “old school” he does his best but also goes beyond what is expected. This is rare today. Living in the 80’s until today, I have seen the quality for what we pay for, decrease. Mr. Brown, has not. He has not decreased his quality of work and continues to give you more than just ONE sample to choose from. People, Boomers, Millennials and Zoomers, this guy goes above and beyond for YOUR projects. Trust me, a guy from the 80’s, knows.”
